As you can see from the photographs, our church is undergoing significant
refurbishments at the present time; these include a new Nave floor with
under-floor heating, new radiators and new quarry tiles throughout. We aim
to keep our worshippers and visitors cosy and comfortable in the future and
look forward to having a useful creative space within the Church / Arts
Centre community.
The work is to be completed in time for Christmas but meanwhile all services
and worship, including baptisms etc, are continuing in the Parish Hall next
to the church.
We are very grateful to all who have contributed so generously to this
important project and look forward to celebrating the re-opening of the
church so watch this space!

The situation in Kenya has been precarious since the Presidential
elections at the turn of the year. Phil is still hopeful that
by the summer things will have calmed down enough for the planned
visit (se below) to go ahead. Some details about the current
situation can be found by clicking
Encounter Bungoma Update Feb 2008
Revd Phil is leading Encounter
Bungoma a visit to Western Kenya in 2008.
It continues the link he has built since a 3 month sabbatical
with the Diocese in 2006.
In 2008 he plans to take a team of up to 12 people to Bungoma
at the invitation of the Bishop (Rt Revd Dr Eliud Wabukala)
to give teaching and training input at the developing Wycliffe
Centre near Bungoma town.
The visit is being arranged through CMS
(Church Mission Society). The dates are 25th August
to 12 September 2008 and will include a safari to the
Masai Mara at the end of the period of teaching at the Wycliffe
Centre.
The likely total cost is £1,400.
This will be an exciting opportunity to learn cross culturally,
building relationships with a sister church and making a contribution
that could be long-lasting.
Further details are on the downloadable
forms.
Please get in touch with Phil
directly if you have any questions or have an interest in coming
on the trip.
